Sorabi Rock Lodge Reserve
Our study site is the beautiful Sorabi Rock Lodge Reserve, a
4 km2 private game reserve 30 km north of Hoedspruit, in South Africa’s Limpopo Province.
Sorabi is situated in a semi-arid region of southern Africa’s Savanna biome. The lowveld climate is characterised by two distinct seasons: cold, dry winters (May-August) and hot, wet summers (September-April) when the reserve receives most of its mean 467 mm annual rainfall.
The reserve is home to an array of species, some incredible kopjies, and on a clear day, a truly stunning view of the escarpment.
